About

Hello, I'm Jess

Welcome to A book of petals.

A book of petals is my small business I run from my home studio in Southport, North West England.

I make my everlasting dried flower wreaths and arrangements with homegrown flowers from my garden and carefully sourced flowers.

homegrown open pink paper daisy flowers with black dot centres growing in a flower garden bed
3 pink paper daisies held in hand above flower patch in garden. 1 flower open, 2 half opened
homegrown strawflowers, (Helichrysum bracteantha) mixture of colours; red, orange, pinks and yellows held together in a large bunch above a table in a home studio workspace

Why am I called A book of petals?

A book of petals is based on my childhood family story, my love of creating and growing plants and flowers.

I remember when I was little with my Nan and Great Auntie collecting flowers and petals and then them teaching me to hang them to dry them, to put them in large books and in a flower press. It was so much fun as a child to get the large books back out to find the petals and flowers to see how well they had pressed. The flowers were thenĀ used to make all sorts of petal potions, perfumes and pictures.

So A book of petals is named after the fun memories and the people who taught me how to grow and dry flowers and for the books full of petals.
